MBTI

The MBTI assesses personality based on four dichotomies, each representing a continuum between two opposite traits. These dichotomies are:

1. Extraversion (E) vs. Introversion (I):

Extraversion Preference for drawing energy from the external world of people, activities, and things.

Introversion Preference for drawing energy from one’s internal world of ideas, emotions, and impressions.

2. Sensing (S) vs. Intuition (N):

Sensing: Preference for focusing on information taken in through the five senses and on practical, real-world data.

Intuition: Preference for focusing on patterns, possibilities, and abstract information.

3. Thinking (T) vs. Feeling (F):

Thinking: Preference for making decisions based on logical analysis and objective criteria.

Feeling: Preference for making decisions based on personal values and the impact on others.

4. Judging (J) vs. Perceiving (P):

Judging: Preference for a structured, decided, and organized approach to life.

Perceiving: Preference for a flexible, adaptable, and spontaneous approach to life.

Combining these preferences results in 16 different personality types, each represented by a four-letter code.
